Autumn Splendor

For this tutorial you will need

* Tube of choice, I am using the work of Maxine Gadd. It is a PTU Tube which you can purchase from MPT HERE

* The wordart (Autumn Wordart) I used is from the Scraps Dimensions which is FTU which you can download from her blog HERE

Plugin - Filters Unlimited 2 (Lens Effects) Which is a PTU plugin which you can purchase HERE
(I only used this filter for an affect on the blurred layer you can use a texture affect that comes with your PSP if you like)

Let's Begin

1. Open a new canvas 600 x 600 white or black background. (whichever you prefer) I'm going to use a black background.

2. Open your tube in PSP and Edit, copy and edit, paste as a new layer on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 90% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "90%" all layers UNCHECKED

3. On your layers palette right click on your tube layer and "duplicate"

4.  On your layer palette click on your original tube layer to activate it and go to
"Adjust", "Blur", "Guassian Blur"
(see my print screen below for the settings I used)

5.  Still on your blurred layer increase the size of the layer by going to "Image" , "Resize" "110%" all layers UNCHECKED
(see my print screen below for what I have now)

6.  On your blurred layer go up to "Effects", "Plugins" and find your "Filters Unlimited2"  Choose "Lens Effects" and "Refractor 1" and use the default settings

7.  On your layer palette click on your original tube layer to make it active (not your blurred layer) and take your magic wand tool and
click inside the circular area of the wreath until you have marching ants
The best settings I found to do this with are as follows;
(see print screen below)
Mode: Add(shift), Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 102, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias checked, Inside

8.
"Selections", "Modify", "Expand" and choose "25" "Layers", "New Raster Layer" and flood fill it with a color of your choice.  I chose a green color to match my tube (#125a00). "Selections", "Select None"

9.  Move your flood filled layer BELOW your tube wreath layer  and on your flood filled layer we're going to add a texture to it by going to "Effects", "Texture Effects", "Texture" and use the settings shown in the print screen below.

10.
"Selections"  "Select None"
(note:  your flood filled layer should be inbetween your original tube layer and your blurred tube layer)

11.  Open up the SD AUTUMN WA 4 wordart and "Edit", "copy" then "edit", "paste as a new layer" on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 20% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "20%" all layers UNCHECKED .  I duplicated the wordart layer and moved it slightly to the left and below my original wordart layer
(make sure this layers are on top of your flood filled layer and under your original tube layer)

12.  Move the wordart up near the top of your flood filled layer
(see my print screen for what I have now)

13.  On your layer palette right click on your top wordart layer and "merge down" (merging your 2 wordart layers together)

14.  See my print screen below for the order in which your layers should  now be on your layer palette.  This is very important as the following steps in the tutorial are geared to the layers being in this order

From top layer down you should have
Original Tube Layer
Wordart Layer
Flood Filled Layer
Blurred Tube Layer
Bottom original layer

15.  Open up the SD AUTUMN WA wordart and "Edit", "copy" then "edit", "paste as a new layer" on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 55% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "55%" all layers UNCHECKED .  On your layers palette right click on it and "duplicate".  Move your duplicated wordart layer below your top tube layer. You should now have a wordart layer above your tube layer (should be your top layer) and one below your tube layer.
(see my print screen below for the order of my layers now)

16.  Take your eraser tool and then click on your top wordart layer on your layers palette to make it active.  Start to erase parts of the wordart that you like so it gives the wordart the look of being intermingled with your tube.  I find a helpful way to do this is to reduce the opacity of your top wordart layer so you can see the tube below it and helps you to decide what parts to erase.  Remember you can always "undo" anything you've erased if you don't like it.  Make sure once you're done the opacity of the layer is back up to 100%.

17.   Add the artist copyright information and save as a jpg or png file
(If you'd like a transparent background click on the eye on your layer palette to the left of your bottom white layer to hide it then save your tag as a png file)

ALL DONE!!

**Note** My preview shows some "noise" added to my tag. If you'd like to do that as well and don't know how to add noise to a tag you can use the "DSB Flux Filter - Bright Noise". I have written a tutorial on how to use this filter if you'd like to try the tutorial to add the noise to your tag.

You can find the tutorial HERE

Animation really isn't necessary with this tag as it looks just as nice without ;)
